TRANSGRESSOR #15 - Oliver, Timmons
Profession: Circuit Court Judge
Crime: Cannibalism
âMr. Reed, you've been in my courtroom too many times. I've tried being lenient. Community service, Scared Straight Program, job shadowing, even working on a farm; nothing seems to help. I can no longer continue giving you these small slaps on the wrist. It seems like youâre hell bent on being incarcerated. So, incarcerated youâll be,â Judge Oliver said as he looked down his horn-rimmed glasses at the wayward teen.
âINCARCERATED?! Youâre locking me up?â Trevor asked clearly confused.
This was the last thing he expected Judge Oliver to say. He had grown accustomed to the slaps on the wrist and not receiving an actual punishment. This verdict felt like a slap in the face.
âYes, Mr. Reed. I have given you multiple chances to get it right. And you blatantly choose not to fly straight. Your offenses have gone from bad to worse. I was a teen once upon a time, and our pranks consisted of throwing eggs and toilet papering trees. The older people I pranked were annoyed. The lady you pranked had a heart attack and died.
You hid in the backseat of someone's car and popped up with a machete. You must be punished for that. I know there is a good kid in you, thatâs the only reason Iâm not sentencing you to manslaughter as an adult.â Judge Oliver said as he banged his gavel. Trevor was indeed a good kid. His problem was he needed attention and was still too young to understand that not all attention was good.
âJudge Oliver, are you serious twenty-four months in Juvie for a prank? It was a dare. Someone texted me and dared me to do it. No one was supposed to get hurt.â Trevor said as tears filled his eyes. He was mortified. Had he known the woman was an elder with heart issues, he wouldâve never done the prank.
âBut someone did. And that couldâve been avoided if you werenât a thrill seeker. You are hereby sentenced to twenty-four months in Frankston Juvenile Detention Center.â
âFrankston?!â Trevor screamed; he was so terrified that he was on the verge of passing out.
âJudge Oliver, Iâm sorry, man. Iâm sorry! Judge, if you give me another chance, I swear, Iâll never mess up again!â Trevor screamed.
True fear washed over his face and that delighted the judge. Trevor knew what most didn't. He knew that Frankston was a butcher shop, not a prison. The judge only sentenced people there that had no friends or family. People that could go missing without a trace. Trevor knew he'd be dead as soon as he exited the Court Room.
During one of the Scared Straight visits, he had snuck away from the group and ventured into a part of the prison marked, âSTAFF ONLY.â The sight of a young child, around thirteen or fourteen years of age, gagged and having their hand amputated was the scene he walked in on. Trevor reported what he saw, but due to his history with pranks, no one believed him.
